I learned that I was a lot more resilient than I thought. I’m also a full-time medic in the county so it was challenging—I have older parents whom I see every day, they live right behind me. And there were a lot of COVID patients in the truck and I was trying to keep the doors open here at the coffeehouse and trying to keep my employees employed. It was a difficult year but we got through it. I was very skeptical when they first started shutting everything down, I was thinking are we going to make it, am I going to get COVID and give it to my parents and kill them. I think it toughened me up a bit and made me more appreciative of things and more resilient.
